ATLANTIS The "Atlantis" issue has been handled in many books, so what news can you expect here? Well, the bad news is that I cannot prove that Atlantis ever existed. The good news is that there are hard facts which have thus far been ignored by science, proving that Atlantis certainly could have existed. The original story of Atlantis was brought to modern literature by the Greek philosopher Plato. In short: he described Atlantis in great detail in his essays Critias and Timaeus (Plato, Flem-Ath). Atlantis must have been a huge island between Europe and America. The army of Atlantis (consisting of more than 1 million men!) tried to conquer the Mediterranean, but the Athenians were the only people who dared to oppose and to attack the (until then) insurmountable Atlantis army. But they won, and freed the countries that were occupied by Atlantis. Unfortunately, the victory didn't last long: an enormous catastrophe struck and wiped out the Athenians army, but also sank Atlantis into the ocean in one night and one day. The question now is, could such a huge island ever have existed, and is there any evidence to suggest that catastrophes on this scale ever happened? To find answers to these questions I studied scientific literature on climate change which in today's society is of global significance because of the suspected global warming phenomenon. Drilling ice cores in Greenland, the Antarctic and even in glaciers in the Andes and other high mountains provided evidence of local and global climate changes, taking place over thousands of years. Carefully examining what scientists have to say about that climate in the past revealed astonishing insights: global disasters were a regular phenomenon until about 8000 years ago when nature became more "relaxed" for some reason. In the book "Verborgen geheimen van de mensheid" I collected all these data and compared it with data derived from ancient tales such as the previously mentioned essays of Plato. The downfall of ancient Greece and Atlantis took place at exactly the same time as the period of extreme volcanic activity which lasted 1850 years. Another undeniable fact is the assumed position of the island of Atlantis. Careful examination of the world map and the 'ring of fire' indicates that Atlantis was exactly at the cross section of three (!) tectonic plates. In the book "Verborgen geheimen van de mensheid - Part II" in Chapter III, "Supermacht Atlantis" I provide solid evidence that the currently accepted concept of continental shift around the Atlantic Ocean, is fundamentally incorrect. The rising magma in the middle of the ocean is not causing the continents to move apart as is generally believed, but is the result of continents already separating. These continents do not move away in parallel but instead turn around, caused by some enormous trigger in the past, such as the sinking of Atlantis, or the impact of a meteorite, or both? |
