On
the sea floor of the Sargasso Sea, off of the
coast of the island Bimini in the north of the Bahamas,
there is an enormous megalithic construction. The huge
dimensions resemble the
megalithic
walls of Sacsayhuaman near Cusco in Peru,
but these are buried deep in
the ocean sand. If this is indeed a similar wall, then it must have
once been above ground. But that must have been more than 10000 years
ago
since in
those ancient days the ocean floor of the Caribbean was much more
elevated than
it is now.
The stones form a
typical pattern which puts forward the idea that it was once a
harbour, ref. Zink.
But
there are also arguments that point in the direction of a normal
natural
phenomenon, ref. McKusick en Harrison.
