In Bolivia
near, near the Lake Titicaca is an ancient site, Tiahuanacu (Tiahuanaco, Tiwanaku). It has been severely affacted by earthquakes and vandalism.
The area houses the Akapana pyramid, and the remains of temples and
courtyard like the Kalasasaya, walls and the famous Sun gate.
Recent restorations may provide an impression of how it
once
looked, but they actually mask the original construction.
The buildings were erected over several phases. Dating techniques based
on the
C14-method indicate that the site was inhabited in the earliest centuries. On the
other hand the same astronomical
orientation
analysis as Stonehenge
proves that the
site dates from 15000 BC making it the oldest site in the world.
At Tiahuanacu, extremely
advanced stone modeling techniques were
applied, see "Verborgen geheimen
van de mensheid" (Dutch), Posnansky,
Ponce (Spanish)
and Protzen. The Akapana pyramid consists of a number of levels which
are
connected with stone tubes using ultimate precision. The scientific
community is
baffled by this 'over-engineered design' as they describe it,
see ref.
Kolata. Water flowed in a very specific way from one level to
the
next through
these stone tubes. Instead of thinking in terms of a specific technical
purpose
- like an industrial processing technique to treat the water in a
certain way -
science depicts this strange Akapana pyramid as a sacred model
of mountains where streams run from one rock over the
other.
(What a fantasy!). Mythology tells us that 'the gods' created man here.
It is almost certain that ordinary people were not allowed to enter
the
site, or at least not to live there. No remains of dwellings have been
found.
All artefacts point in the direction of 'beings' at
work here who
didn't want ordinary people to live here…
Legend has it that the gods created man in Tiahuanacu.
A detailed discussion on Tiahuanacu can be found in ref.
Posnansky, now out-of-print
but available on the Internet.
