The mystery of the Abydos helicopter in Egypt
In the temple of Pharaoh Seti I, an unusual sculpture has been discovered showing elements that remarkably resemble modern vehicles like airplanes and helicopters.

This temple is in the middle of Egypt, in Abydos at the River Nile and was built around 1300 BC.
On one of the beams which support the roof, some hieroglyphics have been discovered. Remarkably, some of these drawings are similar to modern vehicles. Most striking is the helicopter which is an exact replica of the modern ‘sky crane’, a freight helicopter which can lift large objects such as containers or heavy military equipment. The other drawings are somewhat more ambiguous but look like a tank or submarine vessel. The fin at the tail, in combination with the design, is unmistakably an element that shows that it depects vehicles.

However, Egyptologist are convinced that these drawings have come about by modifying older drawings. In the same temple there are comparable hieroglyphics that do not look at all like vehicles (first figure). Unfortunately, these vehicle drawings are at a 3 metre height and mechanical manipulation is not easily visible. Moreover, no technical research has been done to determine decisively what the hieroglyphics depict.

Mythology from all over the world tells tales in which divine beings travel over large distances, and fly through the air. See for instance Ezekiel. If these hieroglyphics are as genuine as they appear, are we witnessing an almost photographic reproduction of these prehistoric vehicles?

In the Seti I temple in Abydos there are hieroglyphics which can be seen to depict vehicles; these however, do not and merely illustrate different hieroglyphics to be found.

A microscopic investigation into the method of carving these hieroglyphics has never been launched, as far as is known.

This modern Sikorsky helicopter is an invention from the last century. Could it be that such vehicles were flying around 3300 years ago?
